Concert photographer and devout Nine Inch Nails fan Andrew Youssef has lost his lengthy battle with cancer.
Youssef's brother said in a statement on Facebook that the 38-year-old died Saturday, surrounded by his family and loved ones. Youssef had been chronicling his fight for Orange County, California's "OC Weekly," and recently drew attention after Nine Inch Nails leader Trent Reznor called him from the stage in Las Vegas and dedicated a song to him.
Reznor and Youssef had become friends recently, and the photographer said he'd cherish those moments with the rocker forever. A Facebook fundraising page called NIN Fans for Andrew Youssef is still collecting donations to help offset the costs of Andrew's medical care.
His brother says supporter's "efforts and love have made a big difference for the family and Andrew."
