Here's How Bryan Cranston Wants Walter White To Appear on Better Call Saul

Tread lightly, Breaking Bad fans: Bryan Cranston is game for a cameo on Better Call Saul, and he’s got an awesome idea for how he could reprise his Breaking Bad antihero-turned-villain on AMC’s prequel series.

When Nerdist sat down with Cranston to talk about season two of his stop-motion animation series SuperMansion on Crackle (premiering Thursday!), he revealed that it was possible for Walter White to show up a few years before he officially met Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk).

“I don’t know. You could [see me on Better Call Saul],” Cranston said. “I actually think it would be fun. I have not been approached by it. I know that [creator] Vince [Gilligan] wouldn’t do anything that would damage the overall brand that he’s worked so hard to develop on a stunt cast kind of thing. And then I think, well what if it isn’t?”

Cranston’s idea for a Walter White cameo is literally just that: a casual cameo.

“What if it’s just a brush-by?” he said. “Just two guys in a market. ‘Are those ripe?’ ‘I don’t know.’ And we don’t even register that we knew each other three years before we see each other again. That’s life. It’s actually very honest that this happens. So the bottom line is I would do it in a second. If Vince wanted me to be on the show, I’d be on the show.”

It’s not so far-fetched to think that this could become reality. Earlier this month, after teasing Breaking Bad villain Gus Fring’s (Giancarlo Esposito) long-awaited return on Better Call Saul in a mysterious Los Pollos Hermanos commercial, the network revealed during the 2017 Winter Television Critics Association press tour that he is officially joining the show–in some capacity–for season three.
