Papa Roach Guest DJ Station: Wu Tang Clan, Foo Fighters & More

Papa Roach

Papa Roach has been releasing rock albums for the last two decades now, and just recently released their ninth studio album, Crooked Teeth via Eleven Seven. Crooked Teeth follows Papa Roach's 2015 album F.E.A.R. and features 10 new songs, including their chart-topping single "Help," as well as collaborations with Skylar Grey ("Periscope") and Machine Gun Kelly ("Sunrise Trailer Park").

To celebrate their new album, we passed the mic over to the band to curate their own Guest DJ station on iHeartRadio, and the guys picked some of their favorite songs to share with fans.

On Papa Roach's Guest DJ station on iHeartRadio, fans can not only hear songs from Crooked Teeth and tracks from the band's previous albums, but they can also listen to artists like Foo Fighters, Poison, Metallica, Rise Against, Imagine Dragons, and even Bruno Mars, among others.

Fans can also hear the band talk about some of their favorite songs, including Tears For Fears' 1985 hit "Everybody Wants To Rule The World." Papa Roach's Tony Palermo said of the track, "Another favorite song, taking it back to the '80s, Tears For Fears 'Everybody Wants To Rule The World.' Great groove, great message."

Papa Roach's Jerry Horton talked about how they were very heavily influenced by Wu Tang Clan, and includes the iconic group's 1993 song "Protect Ya Neck" on the Guest DJ station. "This band is a band that we are heavily influenced by, Wu Tang Clan, and this song was basically an anthem throughout our formative years," Jerry explained.

Meanwhile, Papa Roach frontman Jacoby Shaddix talked about the band's own "Born For Greatness" from Crooked Teeth. He said, "This was actually the first track we wrote and recorded for the record. We went in with a good friend of ours, Jason Evigan; he's a producer, writer, creator, innovator, friend, freak, all of the above. And I guess the M.O. for this song was let's go in and do something experimental, drastically different than what we normally do, and just see what happens, and we came up with some magic on this one. Jerry wrote this ill, kind of bluesy drop on it, and it's just a banger. I love the message too."
