Jenny Lewis Responds To Allegations Against Collaborator Ryan Adams

The day after The New York Times published a harrowing exposé chronicling the stories of seven woman, including Ryan Adams' ex-wife Mandy Moore, who endured sexual and emotional abuse caused by the singer-songwriter, Jenny Lewis released a statement about the accusations.

"I am deeply troubled by Ryan Adams’ alleged behavior," the former Rilo Kiley singer wrote on Twitter. "Although he and I had a working professional relationship, I stand in solidarity with the women who have come forward."

Lewis and Adams have been longtime collaborators. The 44-year-old produced her last album, 2014's The Voyager, and made contributions to her upcoming album On The Line. Additionally, the two toured together in 2015 and played select U.S. dates in 2017.

Since the allegations were made, Adams upcoming album Big Colors has been "put on hold" by Universal Music Group.

The indie star denied all accusations in a a since-deleted series of tweets.

"As someone who has always tried to spread joy through my music and my life, hearing that some people believe I caused them pain saddens me greatly," her wrote. "I am resolved to work to be the best man I can be. And I wish everyone compassion, understanding and healing."

"But the picture that this article paints is upsettingly inaccurate. Some of its details are misrepresented; some are exaggerated; some are outright false," he continued. "I would never have inappropriate interactions with someone I thought was underage. Period."

One of the victims claims she had inappropriate communication with the musician when she was a minor. The FBI is currently investigating the matter.
