Norwegian Women's Team Fined For Not Wearing Bikinis

The Norwegian women's beach handball team was fined for wearing improper uniforms during the Euro 2021 tournament.

Their infraction? Wearing shorts instead of bikini bottoms.

According to the official rules, competitors must wear bottoms "with a close fit and cut on an upward angle toward the top of the leg" - even though the men's team is allowed to compete in tank tops and shorts.

The decision is catching a major backlash from critics who feel the EHA rules are sexist. The Norwegian federation president called the fine "embarrassing". They're not wrong.
